How to Train a Bot Using Documents (PDF, DOC)

During bot creation, inside the Assign Knowledge Base section, select the Documents option. Upload your PDF or DOC/DOCX files. After uploading, complete the bot creation process — Botvee will automatically begin processing the uploaded files in the background.

Step 1: Go to the Knowledge Base section in the Botvee dashboard.

Step 2: Click the Upload Files button and select your documents. Supported formats include PDF, DOC, and DOCX.

Step 3: Botvee processes the document content — reading the text, removing formatting and unnecessary elements, and converting the content into structured AI training data.

Step 4: Once processing is complete, confirm the files are visible in the Knowledge Base document list.

Step 5: Test your chatbot by asking questions related to the document content such as information from manuals, product instructions, or FAQ answers.

Document upload failed — Make sure the file format is supported (PDF or DOC). Bot not responding with document information — Check that the document was processed successfully in the Knowledge Base. Large documents not fully processed — Try splitting the document into smaller sections before uploading.
