Telegram

Put your AI agent on Telegram in about a minute. You create a Telegram bot with BotFather (Telegram’s own tool for making bots), paste its token into Botvee, and your agent answers anyone who messages it. With Telegram Business, it can even answer your private chats as you.

Before you start

• A Telegram account — On your phone or computer
• An AI agent in Botvee — Create one in Dashboard → My AI Agents first
• Optional: Telegram Business — If you want the agent to answer your own private chats

How to create a Telegram bot

   Open Telegram and message @BotFather

   Search for it; it has a blue tick

   Send /newbot

   BotFather asks you two questions

   Choose a name and a username

   The name is what customers see. The username must end in “bot”, for example mystore_bot

   Copy the token

   BotFather sends you a long code called a token. It looks like numbers, a colon and letters. Copy all of it

How to set it up

   Open the window

   Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Telegram and click “Connect”. A window titled “Connect Telegram AI Agent” opens

   Select the AI agent

   Pick the one that should answer on Telegram

   Paste the token

   Into the “HTTP API Token” field. Paste the whole token, with no spaces

   Click “Connect Telegram”

   Botvee checks the token and links your bot. You see “Telegram connected successfully!”

   Test it

   Message your bot from your own Telegram account. The agent replies

Your agent now answers anyone who messages the bot, using the same knowledge as your website. Replies you send from the Botvee Inbox, photos included, are delivered on Telegram.

What you can do with it

• Answer text, voice messages and photos — Voice messages are turned into text and photos are read
• Read documents — PDF, Word, Excel and text files
• Answer in the customer’s language — Including Urdu and Roman Urdu
• Recommend products — From your products and website
• Let your team step in — Telegram chats are in the Botvee Inbox
• Telegram Business — Add the bot to your Telegram Business account and it answers your private chats as you. If you reply yourself, the AI stops talking in that chat, so you are never interrupted

Good to know

• For Telegram Business, add the bot in your Telegram app under Settings → Telegram Business → Chatbots
• To change which agent answers, use “Move to another agent” on the Connected page (Dashboard → Integrations → Manage). You do not need a new bot
• Disconnecting stops replies. The Telegram bot itself stays yours
• AI replies use 10 credits each

Troubleshooting

• “Connection failed” — The token is wrong or incomplete. Copy it again from BotFather, all of it
• The bot does not answer — Check Telegram is on in AI Reply Control in Agent Settings, and check your credits
• It stopped answering one Business chat — You replied yourself in that chat, so the AI stepped back. This is on purpose
• The token leaked — Send /revoke to BotFather for a new token, then connect again with it
